Roy K. Iverson, age 82 of Echo passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Olivia. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Rock Dell Lutheran Church, rural Belview. Visitation will be held from 5 -7 pm on Friday with a prayer service at 7pm at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Roy Kenneth Iverson was born on August 19, 1932 to Ingval and Amanda (Sander) Iverson in Echo Minnesota, Yellow Medicine County. He was baptized on September 18, 1932 and confirmed on April 27, 1947 at Rock Dell Lutheran Church and attended country school. On February 26, 1953, Roy joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged on February 12, 1955. On January 28, 1956, Roy was united in marriage to Marlyce Bruss at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. They made their home on the family farm where Roy lived his entire life. He farmed most of his life and also worked for Warner and Norcraft Companies and was a seed dealer for Mallard Seed Company for many years. He was a member of the Echo American Legion for 59 years. Roy enjoyed wood working, painting tractors, IH Tractors, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. Roy passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Olivia surrounded by his family at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Marlyce Iverson of Echo; seven children, Terri (Bill) Goblish of Vesta, Sharon (Greg) Werner of Sanborn, Deb (Keith) Koerlin of Granite Falls, Cindy (Jeff) Baker of Granite Falls, Ken (Therese) Iverson of Echo, Lori (Delaine) Peterson of Wood Lake, and Kim (Bob) Bahn of Wood Lake; 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; one sister Luella (Karroll) Huckins of Lodi, CA; one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Ingval and Amanda, grandson Alan Iverson, son-in-law Steve Kvendru, and siblings Halvor and Florence Iverson, Eldor Iverson, Irene and Lloyd Busiahn, Alice and Lester Raddatz, Lloyd and Lois Iverson, June and Miller Knutson, Eunice and Reed Just, Bernard Iverson, Shirley Nyheim, Charlotte and Ingevald Brovald, and Doris Johnke.
