Arlene L. Reynolds, age 89, of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Sunwood Care Center in Redwood Falls. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arlene Lucille Reynolds was born on September 29, 1923 to Irwin and Luetta (Schoer) Gibbs on the family farm in Redwood County, Minnesota. She attended country school through the 8th grade and was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Belview. On October 11, 1942, Arlene was united in marriage to Eldon Reynolds at the English Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. They made their home on a farm outside of Redwood Falls for a short time before moving to a farm near Echo until 1970. In 1970, they moved into Echo until 1980 when Eldon passed away. After Eldon passed away, Arlene moved to Belview and in 1984 moved to Redwood Falls. She was a Homemaker most of her life but did work for 10 years at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls and attended services faithfully while she could drive. Otherwise she watched the televised version and was active with the Ladies Circle Club and the Quilters group. Arlene enjoyed going for car rides the most. She loved to see the seasons change and to get out into the fresh air. She also liked people watching, reading, shopping, taking care of her grandchildren, playing cards such as Skipbo, Uno and Whist with her neighbors, and loved just spending time with her family. On Monday, October 22, 2012, Arlene passed away at the Sunwood Care Center in Redwood Falls at the age of 89. Arlene is survived by her three children, Shirley (Gene) Engstrom of Redwood Falls, Nancy Hirman of St. Cloud and Steven (Toni) Reynolds of Dawson; one sister, Donna Poye of Mission, TX; one sister-in-law, Betty Gibbs of Buffalo; eleven grandchildren, Shari (Mike) Christensen of Sleepy Eye, Ryan (Tara) Engstrom of Echo, Eric Engstrom (special friend Nicole)of Montgomery, Anthony (Tammy) Hirman of Coon Rapids, Shawn Hirman of Kansas City, MO, Heidi Hirman of Eden Valley, Nathan Reynolds of Dawson and (special friend Amber) of Clara City, Jennifer (Mark) Olson of Storm Lake, IA, Michelle (Jason) Youngof Renville, Angie (Mark) Miller of Sacred Heart, and Chad (Becky) Reynolds of Renville; twenty two great – grandchildren, two great – great- grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Her parents, husband, Eldon Reynolds, son, Donald Reynolds (2008), two sisters, Pearl Bouska and Lois Hoover, brother, Harlan Gibbs, two infant brothers, Leroy and Myron and one infant sister, Amanda preceded her in death.
