Gladys Syverud

Gladys Elaine Syverud of Echo, passed away on January 10, 2013. Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the services burial will be at the Echo Cemetery. On-line condolences can be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. Arrangements are being handled by Sunset Funeral and Cremation of Echo and Wabasso. Gladys was born in Echo to Chris and Emma ( Kunz) Lindner. Upon graduation from Echo High School, she worked for Dr. Clausen in the Dental office for 6 years. During this time she married Duane (Bud) Syverud . Later they bought and operated a café in Hazel Run until Duane was called to Army Service. After his return from service Duane and Gladys lived in Battle Creek Michigan for several years. They returned to Echo and spent the remainder of their lives there. Gladys is survived by her daughter Diane Chapman and husband Dennis of Elk River, Minnesota, her Grandchildren Patrick Chapman and Sheaya of Sanford, Florida and Haley Kalla and husband Troy of Rice, Minnesota. Her beloved great grandchildren are Ryland Chapman, Fiona Kalla and Adalye Kalla. Nieces; Jayne Shermer of Andover, Minnesota, Kathy and Ed Klein of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nancy and Bill Hall of Portland, Oregon. Nephews; Ted Grams of Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, Ray and Flo Grams of Eau Claire Wisconsin, Mike Grams of Minneapolis and Bob and Ann Timm of Maryville, Washington. Her father, mother , husband Duane and sister Lou and Les Christopherson preceded her in death.
