Robert H. Werner, age 77, of Belview, MN passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 also at Grace Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.. Burial will be in the Belview City Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are handling the arrangements for the family. Robert H. Werner was born on January 3, 1936 to Harry Emil and Wilma Meta (Viergutz) Werner on the family farm near Vesta, MN. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta on January 31, 1936 and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo on April 10, 1949. He attended country school and grew up in the Vesta area. On November 3, 1961, Robert was united in marriage to Amy (Sander) Hunteman at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. They made their home in the Belview area where Robert worked various occupations over the years including excavating, bartending in Sacred Heart and working at Hoffco in Wood Lake. Robert was active with the Belview Fire Department and Ambulance for over 20 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Belview where he helped out with various church functions. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to the Woodlot, walks to the Cenex, playing cards, and going to the casino. On Saturday, January 12, 2013, Robert passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls at the age of 77 years old. Robert is survived by his wife Amy, his four children, Deb (Terry) Zimmer of Echo, Teresa Hunteman of Minneapolis, Scott (Barb Maruska) Werner of Minneapolis, and Tim (Kelly) Werner of Cottonwood; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Whitney, and Alex Zimmer, Aleyse Hunteman, and Stephanie, Jake, and Zach Werner; two sisters, Darlene Milbradt, and Bernell (Maurice) Joel; one sister-in-law, Carol Werner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. His parents, two grandsons, Christopher and Ryan Zimmer, one Godson, Brandon Sander, one brother, Virgil Werner, one brother-in-law, Jim Milbradt, one nephew, Dan Milbradt, and an infant sister preceded him in death.
