Roger Markgraf, age 52, of Granite Falls, Minnesota passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Sanford – Sioux Falls Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Roger Duwain Markgraf was born on January 17, 1961 to Duwain and Estella (Knable) Markgraff in Yellow Medicine County. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. He grew up on a farm outside of Echo where he attended school in Echo and Wood Lake. After graduating, He continued his education at the Granite Falls Vocational School. In 1983, Roger married Tamela Kittelson in Springfield, MN. They made their home in Morton, Minnesota where Roger worked various jobs over the years. Roger is a past member of Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. Roger enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, artwork, spending time with his sister Pam, his mother Estella, his two children, Megan and Matthew, and his grandchild, Michael. On Friday, April 5, 2013, Roger passed away at the Sanford-Sioux Falls Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 52 years old. Roger is survived by his mother, Estella Markgraf of Granite Falls; his two children, Megan Markgraf of Morton, and Matthew Markgraf of Baudette; sister, Pam Hubert of Granite Falls; grandson, Michael, and other extended family. His father, Duwain Markgraf preceded him in death.
