Richard M. Nordby, age 77, of Franklin, MN, made his final journey on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home in Franklin. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Nordby was born on January 19, 1936 to Martin and Ruth (Kelly) Nordby in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Franklin High School in 1954. Richard then went on to college at St. Olaf University and Carlton College. He served his country in the United States Army in 1958, and was honorably discharged in 1960. In 1986, Richard was united in marriage to his loving wife, Judy, of 27 years. They made their home in Franklin where Richard worked as an auditor for many years, and in later years, worked as an insurance adjuster until he retired in 1998. He also was a great volunteer driver for friends and neighbors. Richard and Judy wintered in New Mexico for years. Richard enjoyed playing bridge, buck, going sailing, and visiting friends. On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, Richard made his final journey after a short illness at the age of 77 years old. He will be greatly missed. Richard is survived by his wife, Judy, of Franklin, numerous cousins, many close friends, and two special little girls. His parents, Martin and Ruth Nordby, many uncles, and one aunt, preceded him in death.
