Reynold E. Baune

Reynold E. Baune, age 79, of Cottonwood, MN, passed away on Saturday, May, 4, 2013 at the Seasons Hospice Home in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the church with a CCW rosary at 5:30 PM and a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A Private family burial will be held. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are handling the arrangements for the family. Reynold Edward Baune was born in Willow Lake Township near Wabasso, MN to Ed and Anna (Frericks) Baune on March 10, 1934. He lived on the farm with his parents and attended grade school at St. Anne’s in Wabasso. On July 7, 1953 he and Ginger Eaton were married in Morton, MN at St. John’s Catholic Church. He farmed for three years, quit farming, and worked at the Wabasso Creamery. He worked at St. Anne’s School and Church for six years. He then went to work at Kretsch’s Chevrolet and John Deere. In 1968, he went to work for Schwan’s as a route man for five years in Montgomery, MN. He then moved to Cottonwood in 1972 and began driving a Schwan’s Semi. He retired about 1986 because of a disability. He loved farming in the fall; his vacation is what he called it. He enjoyed carpentry, going to the lake fishing, latch hooking, and especially his grandchildren and Boots, his puppy. On Saturday, May 4, 2013, Reynold passed away at the Seasons Hospice Home in Redwood Falls, Minnesota at the age of 79 years old. He is survived by his wife, Ginger; eleven children, Joe Baune of Wood Lake, Doug and Theresa Baune of Wood Lake, Sue and Bill Hansen of Armstrong, IA, Debra Jones of Wood Lake, John “Jack” and Kim Baune of Redwing, Sandra and Dave Dworshak of Morton, Karen and Don Dehncke Jr. of Morton, Sharon and Brad Matthys of Cottonwood, Troy and Kristy Baune of Aurora, CO, Todd and Michelle Baune of Cottonwood, and Shanda and Himal Barooah of NJ; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; Brothers, Eugene and Elaine Baune of Wabasso, Cyril “Butch” and Phylis Baune of Wabasso; sister, Lorraine Rothmeier of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law, Kathy Baune, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents, four brothers, three sisters, and Howard Midbow preceded him in death. Blessed be the memory of Reynold Baune
