Doris E. Lee, age 90, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Cottonwood, MN, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her residence in Minneapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM at the church on Sunday, June 16, 2013, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday. Doris Elizabeth Lee was born on June 29, 1922 in Cottonwood, Minnesota to Alfred and Elizabeth (Mauland) Huso. She attended country school in school district #87 and was active in Vallers 4H. She graduated from Cottonwood Public School in 1940. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and was a member her entire life. On August 24, 1944, Doris was united in marriage to Virgil Lee in Cottonwood, Minnesota. They made their home in Cottonwood where over the years Doris worked for North Star Mutual Insurance, Marvin Perrizo, DDS., and Ericksen Furniture and Hardware. She was a faithful servant of Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood where she was active as an Alter Guild, Sunday school teacher, church officer, and WELCA member. Doris enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and spending time with her family. On Tuesday, June 11, 2013, Doris passed away at her residence in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 90 years old. Doris is survived by her two children, Ingrid Lee of Minneapolis, MN and Gary Lee of Davenport, IA; one grandson, Nick Larson; and two sons-in-law, Mark Larson and Jeff Monzel. Her parents, husband, Virgil, two daughters, Janiel and JoAnn, sister, Eleanor, and three brothers, Kermit, Burnell, and James preceded her in death. “Special thanks to Jeff Monzel for the loving care given to Doris”
