Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Prahl

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Anderson Prahl, age 86, of Redwood Falls, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview, MN. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday, July 8, 2013 also at Grace Lutheran and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Anderson Prahl was born and baptized on March 21, 1927 to Morris and Vera (Gibbs) Anderson on the Gibbs family farm in Yellow Medicine County. She moved with her family from the Rock Valle area to Belview, MN in 1939 and graduated from Belview High School in 1945. After High School, Betty received her teaching degree from St. Cloud State College and taught school in Fairfax, Minnesota. Betty married Raymond G. Anderson on September 24, 1950 and lived on a farm east of Belview. Together they had three children, Gregory, Dean, and Gail. Raymond passed away on September 15, 1978. On April 7, 1991, Betty married Harvey Prahl and made their home on her farm. Harvey passed away on August 30, 2005. Betty moved to Redwood Falls in 2006. Betty was a member of and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. In earlier years, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, held various offices in WELCA, and was a 60 year member of the Belview Legion Auxillary. Betty enjoyed traveling, playing golf, needlework, reading, sudoku, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, friends, and relatives. On Thursday, July 4, 2013, Betty passed away at the Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls, Minnesota at the age of 86 years old. Greatful for having shared her life are her three children, Gregory (Cecilia) Anderson of Redwood Falls, Dean Anderson of Redwood Falls, and Gail (Paul) Klause of Redwood Falls; two step-children, Neal (Andre) Prahl of Shakopee, and Julie Prahl of Morgan; grandchildren, Ray (Phyllis Ukatu) Anderson of Reedley, CA, Tom (fiancé Alyssa Buysse) of Anoka, Katie, Taylor, and Bailey Klause of Redwood Falls; step-grandchildren, Nick and Lexy Prahl of Shakopee; Brother, Allan (Marvel) Anderson of Morris, and sister, Barb (Ed) Splinter of Watertown, SD; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Strankman of Sequim, WA, Margie Anderson of Belview, Alsace Bjorndahl of Belview, Helen Runck of New Ulm, and Phyllis Prahl of Redwood Falls, and many nieces and nephews. Her twin sister, Martha at birth, husbands, Raymond and Harvey, and her grandson, Brian Anderson preceded her in death. Blessed be her memory.
