Harlan Naab, age 89, of Wood Lake, Minnesota, died Friday, August 23, 2013 in Hospice care at Morningside Heights in Marshall, MN. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church,Posen Township, rural Wood Lake, MN. Visitation will be held at the church from 5 -8 on Sunday August 25, 2013 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to the services on Monday. Harlan Walter Naab was born on May 30, 1924 to Walter and Hulda (Zimmer) Naab in Seaforth, Minnesota, Redwood County. He was baptized at Sheridan Lutheran Church in Seaforth. He attended Country School by horse and buggy and graduated from Wood Lake High School. On May, 22, 1938, Harlan was confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Posen Township. On September 12, 1948, Harlan was united in marriage to Marian Timm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. They made their home on the farm near Wood Lake where they remained their entire life. Harlan was a farmer, milked cows and raised Dekalb seed corn for many years. Harlan also worked for many years as the Posen Township Assessor. He was very active in his community, being involved on the Posen Township Board, spent many years on the Wood Lake Public School Board, Wood Lake Equity Elevator, and served on the Yellow Medicine County D.H.I.A. Board. Harlan was active with the Wood Lake Lions Club, President of AAL branch 1305, and also held various positions on the St. Luke’s Church Council. Harlan enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Lake Amelia, bowling, playing cards, fishing, golfing, hunting, tinkering in his shop, socializing with friends, and spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. Harlan took great pride in his farm operation and the upkeep of his yard and equipment. On Friday, August 23, 2013, Harlan passed away in Hospice care at Morningside Heights in Marshall, Minnesota at the age of 89 years old. Grateful for having shared his life is his wife of 65 years, Marian; children, Char (Nick) Kissner of Wood Lake, Jolene Busiahn of Marshall, and Becky (Kevin) Pogreba of Lincoln, NE; siblings, Dennis (Delores) Naab of Wood Lake, and Kenneth Naab of Wood Lake; grandchildren, Jacob and Megan Busiahn, Max and Addie Pogreba, Heather (Allen) Paves, Tracey (Patrick) Blake, and Amber and Bailey Kissner; great-grandchildren, Eva Paves, and Charlotte Blake, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents, Walter and Hilda, son, Curtis, brother, Orlean, nephews, Brian and Tim, and niece, Kristine preceded him in death. Blessed be his memory.
