Alphonse A. Guetter, age 88, of Wabasso, MN passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Alphonse Andrew Guetter was born on October 22, 1924 to Joseph and Amelia (Hoffmann) Guetter on the family farm near Wabasso, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso and attended St. Anne’s School. On June 27, 1951, Alphonse was united in marriage to Mathilda Bernardy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth, MN. They made their home on the family farm where he farmed his entire life. He was a member and officer of Catholic United Financial, St. Anne’s Choir, and served as a home communion distributor. He enjoyed square dancing and served as president and instructor for the square dancing organization. He liked to play cards, especially Sheephead. On Thursday, September 26, 2013, Alphonse passed away at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso, Minnesota at the age of 88. Alphonse is survived by his children, Charles (Pat) Guetter of Rockville, Roger (Sharon) Guetter of Lucan, Marie (Joseph) Schueller of Lucan, Patty Butler of Willmar, Tim (Patti) Guetter of Marshall, Clete (Tami) Guetter of Wabasso, and Nancy Guetter of Fargo, ND, 19 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, siblings; Katherine Tingelhoff, Alois Guetter, and Theresa Fischer; in-laws; Genevieve Rohlik, Adolph (LaVonne) Bernardy, and Marvin (Maureen) Bernardy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mathilda, son Paul, two grandchildren, and son-in-law Dennis Butler, five brothers; Joseph, John, Fr. Michael, Anthony, George, four sisters; Sister Amelia, Cecilia Walter, Annie Walter, and Amelia Blessed be his memory.
