Patricia (Wagner) Ebner, age 52, of Wabasso, MN passed away on Friday, October 04, 2013 at the Sunwood - Good Samaritan Society in Redwood Falls, MN after a long battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with a parish prayer service being held at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be at the St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Seaforth American Legion. Patricia Mary (Wagner) Ebner was born on August 29, 1961 in the Granite Falls Hospital to Gerald and Joan (Soupir) Wagner. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Pat grew up on a farm east of Seaforth and she graduated from the Wabasso High School in 1979. She graduated from the Willmar Vocational and Technical College in 1980. On January 20, 1981, Pat enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, South Carolina. After a 20 year career, Pat retired from the Marine Corps on January 31, 2001 with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. During her career she has served at the following duty stations: Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, 29 Palms, CA; Marine Corps Base and the 1st Force Service Support Group at Camp Pendleton, CA; 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan; Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC; Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington DC; Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, VA; Marine Aircraft Group – 31, Beaufort, SC and the 3rd Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan. Pat’s Marine Corps personal decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Comendation Medal, 6 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, 2 Meritorious Unit Commendations, 6 Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal and 4 Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbons. Upon retirement, Pat moved back to the Seaforth/Wabasso area to raise her children around her family and friends. Pat worked for the Marshall Police Department as their Records Clerk and then she worked for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs as a Higher Education Veterans Coordinator at SMSU in Marshall. Pat was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Pat has held the positions of: CCW Secretery for St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 3 years; Site Council Member for the Wabasso Public Schools for 3 years; SMSU Veterans Club Advisor for 5 years; Adjutant for the Seaforth American Legion for 8 years; President for the Seaforth American Legion Auxiliary for 2 years; Adjutant for the Redwood County Council of the American Legion for 4 years; Member of the VFW Post 742 in Marshall; The Women Marine Association; and the Retired Enlisted Association. Pat enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her children and her family. Pat is survived by her children, Ryan Scott of Roseau, Matthew Arnold and Samantha Arnold of Wabasso and her two granddaughters, Maggie and Meadowe, and grandson, Teagan. She is also survived by her mother Joan Wagner of Seaforth and her sisters, Marty Ross of Brownton, Jane Rechtzigel of Osakis, Carole (Mike) Remiger of Wabasso, Gail (Tim) Woelfel of Redwood Falls, Colleen (Joe) Remiger of Wabasso, Mary (Brian) Erickson of Montevideo, Jean (Mark) Nelson of Slayton, and several nieces and nephews. Her father, Gerald Wagner preceded her in death. Blessed be her memory.
