Henry F. Schweim, age 95, of Wabasso, MN passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Sunwood-Good Samaritan Society in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held from 5 -7 pm on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Wabasso. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Wabasso immediately following the luncheon at church. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Henry Ferdinand Schweim was born on March 23, 1918 in rural Wabasso, Minnesota to Gustav and Anna (Triebenbach) Schweim. He was baptized into the Christian faith in 1918 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wabasso, and was confirmed in his faith there on April 9, 1933. Henry attended District 76 Country School in rural Wabasso receiving his 8th grade diploma in 1931. On October 6, 1946, Henry was united in marriage to Inez Hoffman at Bethany Lutheran Church. They farmed the home farm until 1959 when they purchased their own farm in Vail Township. They retired in 1981 and continued to live on the farm site. They shared 57 years of marriage. Upon Inez’s passing in 2003, Henry moved into the Heritage Apartments in Wabasso, then in 2006, Henry moved to the assisted living at Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls, and in 2010, Henry moved one last time to the Sunwood-Good Samaritan Society in Redwood Falls. Henry served on the Bethany Church Council and taught Sunday School there for many years. He was on the Vail Township Board for 30 years. Henry was a believer in Christ who died on the cross for our sins. Ephesians 2: 8-9: “For by Grace are ye saved through faith; that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.” On Friday, October 18, 2013, Henry passed away at the Sunwood-Good Samaritan Society in Redwood Falls at the age of 95 years old. Henry is survived by his brothers-in-law, Glen (Lila) Hoffman of Redwood Falls, and Donald Hoffman of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His wife, Inez, parents, Gustav and Anna, brothers, Herman and Erwin Schweim, sisters, Hilda Paskewitz and Bertha Paskewitz, brothers-in-law, Ervin Hoffman, Paul Paskewitz, and Elmer Paskewitz, and sisters-in-law, Mavis Hoffman, and Gesena Schweim preceded him in death. Blessed be the memory of Henry. We sorrow at his departure from us, but rejoice at his entrance into heaven, where all believers in Christ Jesus will be reunited forever in the presence of God.
