George A. Kuehn - Renville

George A. Kuehn, age 93 of Renville, MN passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Rice Memorial Medical Center in Willmar, MN. A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Dr. George A. Kuehn was born May 25, 1920, in Echo, MN, the son of Alexander R. Kuehn and Bertha (Muenchow) Kuehn. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church, Echo, MN. He attended elementary school in rural District #18 south of Echo. He graduated from Echo High School in 1937. Upon graduation he began farming south of Echo, a path that he followed until 1957. On November 10, 1940 he married Marian Irvena Bendix at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo, MN, where they were members for many years. During their farming years together, they became the parents of a daughter, Gloria Jean and a son, Daryl Thomas Kuehn. In 1959 George began to attend Northwestern College of Chiropractic and upon his graduation, he established a chiropractic practice in Olivia, MN and also Marshall, MN. He was a lifelong learner and attended many other courses of study to enhance his practice. During this time George and Marian lived in Renville, MN. George continued his chiropractic practices until his retirement in 2008. In his final years he enjoyed many hours of Bible study and of utmost comfort to him was his faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and he passed away looking forward to his heavenly home. On Saturday, October 26, 2013 George passed away at the Rice Memorial Medical Center in Willmar, MN at the age of 93 years old. Survivors include his daughter, Gloria Jean Grohn (Allen) of Fergus Falls, MN, his son, Daryl Thomas Kuehn (Mona) of Echo, MN, grandchildren, Brenda Haar (Ted), Scott Grohn, Christine Lauzon (Todd), Susan Beck (Marc), Jeffrey Kuehn (Courtney) and Tom Kuehn (Kara); and 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Alexander and Bertha Kuehn; wife, Marian I. Kuehn; brothers, William, Paul, Alexander, Walter, Arthur, Harold and baby brother, Gerald; sisters, Emma Stelter, Alma Stelter, Clara Roepke, Lorena Bendix, Ella Kuehn and a baby sister, Viola.
