Adella C. Kvendru, age 84, of Belview, MN passed away on Wednesday, December 04, 2013 at the Parkview Home in Belview. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Friday, December 6, 2013 with a prayer service being held at 7 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Belview City Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. Adella Carolina Borghild Slettedahl Kvendru was born on June 12, 1929 to Paul and Anna (Oie) Slettedahl in the Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Echo Lutheran Church by Pastor O.C. Harang. Adella attended school in District #84 and graduated from Echo High School in 1947. She worked in the Echo, Wood Lake, and Granite Falls area as a care giver. On February 25, 1950, Adella was united in marriage to Arfield Kvendru. They moved onto a farm east of Echo. She helped her husband with the farming. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Belview. She was a Saturday school and Bible school teacher for a number of years and was also a member of the Ladies Aid. Adella enjoyed her family around her. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, camping, and going on trips in the summer. She also enjoyed reading poetry, and making scrapbooks of poems and local happenings. She is survived by her husband, ArfieldKvendru of Belview; 2 children, Nancy (Larry) Peterson of Spicer, and Franklin (Evon) Kvendru of Belview; grandchildren, Shannon (Jeff) Lind of St. Francis, and Matthew Peterson of Dickinson, ND; great-grandson, Jacob Lind of St. Francis; great-granddaughter, Hannah Lind of St. Francis; sisters, Nora Busack of Belview, and Bernice (Gehard) Marquardt of Waconia. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jonard, Elmer, Palmer, Prescott, and David, and sisters, Cora Busack and Rosella Hartke. Blessed be her memory.
