Stanley Earl Stolen - Hanley Falls

Stanley Earl Stolen was born December 31, 1936 in Fosston, Minn. to Elmer and Nina (Hoialmen) Stolen. He grew up on the family farm near Fosston, where he attended the Fosston High School until graduating in 1954. After graduating, he moved to Granite Falls, where he met and married Myrna Mae Yeager on June 30, 1956. Stan and Myrna made their home in the Granite Falls/Wood Lake/Hanley Falls area, where they raised their six children. The term "jack-of-all-trades" could have been created for Stan. He had many skills and many jobs including everything from building homes to driving truck to medical transport. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or make. He owned businesses including a grocery store, construction business, chainsaw sharpening and repair, antique store, and was a licensed gun dealer. Stan loved hunting and fishing from early on in life, both activities he enjoyed sharing with friends and family. He loved children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved animals, often carrying dog treats in his pocket in the case that he'd happen upon one. He loved to play pranks on those around him, and tell jokes, with his easy laugh and frequent smile. He talked to strangers everywhere he went and made many friends throughout his lifetime. He was always known to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Stan passed away in Granite Falls on January 8, 2014, at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife Myrna of Hanley Falls; children Deb (Scott) Klapperich of Baldwin, WI, Daniel Stolen of Montevideo, Lori Stolen of Hanley Falls, Russell (Mary) Stolen of Savage, Kelby Stolen of Redwood Falls; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings Paul (Debbie) Stolen, Marilyn (Russell) Nelson, Judy (P.) Willey, Diane (Randy) Withrow; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great neices and great nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, son Charles Stolen, and two grandchildren.
