Lavonne Ellen Hansen Brevig - Lindstrom/Lucan

LaVonne E. Hansen Brevig, 90, of Lindstrom, MN, formerly of Lucan, MN passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at her residence in Lindstrom, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. Hansen Brevig was born on June 27, 1923 to Lawrence and Naomi (Elliott) Doty in Jeffers, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. She grew up in the Southwest Minnesota area and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1941. On June 30, 1941, LaVonne was united in marriage to Verne Hansen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lucan and they made their home on a farm outside of Lucan. She worked hard on the farm and also worked as a cook at the Robert Milton Home in Redwood Falls and at the Lamberton Nursing Home. She also worked at BH Electronics and also as a depth finder inspector in Marshall. After retirement, they made their home in Marshall. Verne passed away in 1986 and she remained in Marshall for a few more years. On June 24, 1991, LaVonne married Erling Brevig in Starbuck, MN where they lived until Erlings passing in 2008. She then moved to Lindstrom to be near her daughter. LaVonne was a beautiful singer and was active in many church choirs over the years. She enjoyed gardening, nature, all kinds of puzzles, reading, watching the cooking channel, and loved to spend time with her family. On Sunday, March 23, 2014 LaVonne passed away at her residence in Lindstrom, Minnesota at the age of 90 years old. She is survived by her children, Jorgen (Sharon) Hansen of St. Michael, Marvin (Jody) Hansen of Breezy Point, and Ardace (Richard) Rolland of Lindstrom; one brother, Harold (Joan) Doty of Underwood; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Verne and Erling, and an infant daughter, Lorene Diane. Blessed be her memory.
