Erna M Weiss - Wabasso

Erna M. Weiss, age 96 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Wabasso, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Sunwood – Good Samaritan Home in Redwood Falls. Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday. Weiss was born on September 26, 1917 to Gustav and Bertha (Rehberg) Wille in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church when it was in the Waterbury Township and attended country school. On June 30, 1936 Erna was united in marriage to Henry Weiss and they made their home on a farm in the Waterbury Township where they farmed for 32 years. After retirement, they moved to Springfield and still helped with farming. After Henry passed away in 2004, Erna moved to Wabasso for a short time, and then moved to Redwood Falls at Johnson Park Place. In 2012, Erna moved into the Good Samaritan Home where she remained. Erna enjoyed playing cards, fishing, making pickles and homemade bread, taking care of her grandchildren, and spending time with her family. On Thursday, April 10, 2014 Erna passed away at the Sunwood - Good Samaritan Home in Redwood Falls at the age of 96 years old. She is survived by her one son, Gary (Ruth) Weiss of Lamberton; four grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Wood of Bismarck, ND, Bryce (Nicole) Weiss of Bismarck, ND, Darcy (Shahryar) Darouie of Savage, and Angie (Ryan) Perish of Palisade; one brother, Alvin Wille of Lamberton; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Erna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. Blessed be her memory.
