Reba Katherine Bahn - Wood Lake

Reba K. Bahn age 97 of Wood Lake, MN passed away on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday July, 15, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, MN. Visitation will be on hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Reba Kathrine Kleppe Bahn Reba was born November 26, 1916 to Rasmas & Ava (Albertson) Kleppe in Cottonwood, MN, Lyon County. She was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran, Cottonwood, MN and attended Cottonwood Public School and Graduating in 1937. After graduation she worked in the Cottonwood Drug store where she met the love of her life, Marvin, who had come in to buy strings for his guitar. On September 10, 1939 Reba married Marvin Bahn of Posen Township and together they started farming north of Wood Lake. From this union two daughters were born JoAnn and Carolyn. In 1961 Marvin and Reba became the foster parent of Delynn Bresson. Reba was a member at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Wood Lake. She was in the Ladies Aid and sang in the Choir for many years. Reba enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, golfing, gardening and loved spending time with all of her grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. Marvin and Reba enjoyed traveling to many states in the US, among those was a trip to Alaska and also trips into Canada. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting Afghans for her family. In 1977, they retired and built a home in Wood Lake. They spent many winters in Texas. Reba is survived by her two daughters, JoAnn (Larry) Peterson, Wood Lake, MN, Carolyn (Michael) Rasnak, Wadmalaw Island, SC; one son, Delynn (Barb) Bresson, Hanley Falls; eight grandchildren, Becky (Greg) Braun, Farmington, NM, Delaine (Lori) Peterson, Wood Lake, MN, Lance (Tammy) Peterson, Wood Lake, MN, Travis (Brenda) Peterson, Granite Falls, MN, Kimberly (Brian) Zaayer, Columbus, OH, Stephen Rasnak, Wadmalaw Island, SC, Jenny (Jon) Waller, Granite Falls, MN, Brian Bresson, Montevideo, MN; thirteen great grandchildren, Amanda Braun, Buffalo, MN, Trentyn (Kacy) Braun, Farmington, NM, Jenni (Dustin) Berends, Wood Lake, MN, Taylor (Leah) Peterson, New Ulm, MN, Tanner Peterson, Wood Lake, MN, Shawn and Nathan Peterson, Wood Lake, MN, Nicholas, Ethan and Jacob Peterson, Granite Falls, MN, Charlie, Layton & Laila Waller, Granite Falls, MN; seven great-great grandchildren, Lily Ann, Hunter and Kolby Spike, Landyn and Avery Berends, Faith and Zander Braun; one sister, Neva (Rolland) Brendsel, TX; one brother-in-law, Louis (Lois) Bahn; special family friends, Brent & Jodi Reynolds and Cole; many nieces and nephews. She was so excited when she was told that there was 1 new great grandchild and 1 new great-great grandchild to arrive soon. Her husband, Marvin and her parents preceded her in death.
