Geneva D. Herberg, age 90 of Redwood Falls, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Sunwood – Good Samaritan Home in Redwood Falls. Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church with burial to follow at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery in Hanley Falls. Geneva Della Herberg was born on October 5, 1923 to Albin Olai and Gunhild (Johnson) Gautefall in Yellow Medicine County, Hazel Run Township. She grew up in the Hazel Run Township, Hanley Falls area and attended Hanley Falls Public Schools. She was baptized on November 11, 1923 and confirmed on June 5, 1938 at Hazel Run Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls. On June 30, 1948, Geneva was united in marriage to Clair Arthur Herberg at Hazel Run Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls. Over the years, they lived in Pipestone, Marshall, Echo, Belview, Minneota, and Redwood Falls. Geneva enjoyed spending Sunday dinners with her parents and siblings, playing the organ and piano by ear, coffee time with her friends, playing cards with friends, going to the movies, and spending time with her children and family. On Sunday, August 10, 2014, Geneva passed away at the Sunwood – Good Samaritan Home in Redwood Falls at the age of 90 years old. She is survived by her two children, Kevin (Linda) Herberg of Redwood Falls, and Debra Herberg of Edina; two grandchildren, Stephen (Rachael) Hollatz, and Bethany Hollatz; one great-granddaughter, Evelynn “Evie” Hollatz, and one great-grandson on the way. Her parents, one brother, Edgar Gautefall, four sisters, Gena Leupke, Odella Aakvik, Hilma Garrels, and Erva Folstad preceded her in death. Blessed be her memory.
