Lloyd W. Sander age 84 of Belview, MN passed away on Saturday September 6, 2014 at Parkview Nursing Home in Belview, MN. Funeral Services will held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Rock Dell Evangelical Lutheran Church rural Belview. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 on Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Lloyd W. Sander was born on September 30, 1929 to Oscar and Amanda (Iverson) Sander in Swedes Forest Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Dell Evangelical Lutheran Church. He attended Country School at District #5. On December 2, 1961, Lloyd was united in marriage to Alta Zvorak in the Rock Dell Parsonage. After Alta passed away, Lloyd married Eleanor Sander on August 18, 1973 in the Rock Dell Parsonage. They made their home on the family farm. In March of 2006 they moved into Belview. His passion for farming started in his childhood and continued throughout his entire life, whether he was farming his land, working for others or keeping an eye on the crops or just plain talking farming. Lloyd could often be found working in his garden or playing or listening to Old Tyme Music, shooting pool or playing cards. On Saturday, September 6, 2014 Lloyd passed away at the Parkview Nursing Home in Belview, Minnesota at the age of 84 years. Grateful for having shared his life is his wife Eleanor, son, Les (Kim) of Echo, Kris (Jim) Slettedahl of Echo, Ed (Shannon) Sander of Sacred Heart and Kathy (Brion) of Janesville. His sister Dorothy Hoepner of Wood Lake, grandchildren Grant and Luke Sander, Tyler (Belinda) Slettedahl, Kyle (Amanda) Slettedahl, Madison Slettedahl, Ethan, Cody and Kendra Sander and Ellie, Millie, Emma and Sam Danzer, great grandchildren, Henry, Quinn Slettedahl, and Owen and Abigail Slettedahl, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents Oscar and Amanda, first wife Alta, siblings, Hildora Lecy, Enola Grannes, Orvin Sander preceded him in death.
