Marlene H. Zimmer, age 79 of Redwood Falls, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm on Wednesday at the church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery immediately following the service. Zimmer was born on August 14, 1935 to Clinton and Helene (Dahl) Lamb in Echo, Minnesota, Yellow Medicine County. She grew up in the Seaforth and Belview areas and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Belview High School in 1953. She continued her education in New Ulm where she received her LPN. On September 9, 1955, Marlene was united in marriage to Darrell Zimmer at the Belview Lutheran Church in Belview. They made their home in Redwood Falls for a short time, then moved to a farm in Renville County, and then moved back to Redwood Falls in 1962 where they have remained ever since. Marlene worked for 43 years as an LPN at the Redwood Falls Hospital and retired in 1998. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls where she was active with the Ladies Aid. On Saturday, September 27, 2014, Marlene passed away at the Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls at the age of 79 years old. She is survived by her husband Darrell Zimmer of Redwood Falls; four children, Kevin (Laura) Zimmer of Granite Falls, Brian (Sharon) Zimmer of Techumsch, OK, Ward (Joana) Zimmer of Cottage Grove, and Donna (Greg) Ulrich of Stewart; eight grandchildren, , Jeremy Rustad, Shannon Jensen, Isaac Zimmer, Daniela Zimmer, Zachary Zimmer, Michaela Zimmer, Christopher Ulrich, and April Ulrich; three great grandchildren, Hailey Jensen, Addison Jensen, and Alexis Jensen; one brother Leslie Lamb of New Hope; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents, brother Raynard, sister-in-law Una Marie, and brother-in-law Norman preceded her in death. Blessed be her memory.
