Raymond G. Schultz, age 89, of Belview passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye, MN. Private family services will be held at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo with burial being held in the Echo Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Raymond G. Schultz was born on May 5, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schultz in Southwest Minnesota. He attended Echo country school and was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. On December 1, 1946, Raymond was united in marriage to Millie Pehling at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. After marriage they moved and farmed in the Morton and Franklin communities and then moved to St. James and farmed there for a short time. They moved from St. James to Sleepy Eye and from there moved to Bolivar, Missouri for a few years. They moved one last time back to the Belview area. Ray was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Belview. After Millie passed away on December 30, 2012, Ray moved to the Sleepy Eye Care Center. Ray enjoyed farming, horses, tinkering with lawn mowers and bikes, and splitting fire wood. On Friday, October 31, 2014 Ray passed away at the Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye at the age of 89. He is survived by his four children, Robert (Cindy) Schultz of Courtland, Diane Melzer of New Ulm, Linda (Doug) Krenz of Sleepy Eye, and Nancy (Paul) Anderson of Casa Grande, AZ; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Bud Schultz, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents, wife Millie, four brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death. Blessed be his memory.
