Jerome “Jerry” H. Landkammer, age 87 of Clements, MN passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Gil - Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clements with visitation one hour prior to the service. Jerome Henry Landkammer was born on December 13, 1927 to Henry and Elizabeth (Liebl) Landkammer in Springfield, Minnesota, Brown County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and graduated from Springfield High School in 1945. After graduation, Jerome enlisted into the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California, “the best city in the world”. On May 14, 1947, Jerome was united in marriage to Arlene Stock at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn and they loved unconditionally for 67 years. They made their home on a farm in Sundown Township near Clements where Jerome farmed his entire life, raising crops and livestock, milking cows, and custom corn shelling, until his health forced him to retire at the age of 86 years old. Jerome was a trustee and usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clements for many years. Most recently, Jerome and Arlene lived at Gil – Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan. Jerome enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his family. Jerome answered St. Peter’s call and found the key to eternal life on December 23, 2014 at the Gil - Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan, Minnesota at the age of 87 years old. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Arlene Landkammer of Clements; children, Kenneth (Virginia) Landkammer of Clements, Kathleen (Roger) Wall of Clements, and Susanne (Dave) Einerson of Cottonwood; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Mary Lou in 2002, grandson Chad in 1985, one brother, and one sister. Memorials preferred to Redwood Area Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church oratory. Blessed be his memory. “Old Farmers never die, they just go to seed!”
