Armin Roy Dallmann

Armin R. Dallmann, age 87 of Wabasso, MN passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be held from 4:30 – 8:00 pm on Thursday at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery. Armin Roy Dallmann was born on October 17, 1927 to Theodore and Clara (Raveling) Dallmann on the family farm near Lamberton, Minnesota, Waterbury Township. He was baptized on November 6, 1927 and confirmed on April 6, 1941 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. He attended Wabasso Public Schools and graduated in 1945. Shortly after his 18th birthday, Armin was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Italy during the end of WW II. He received the WWII Victory Medal and was honorably discharged from active service in 1947 but continued his obligation to his country in the Army Reserves until 1951. On June 17, 1951, Armin was united in marriage to Myra Schwahn at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso and they made their home on the Schwahn family farm where Armin farmed in Waterbury Township for most of his life. He retired in 1992 and they moved into Wabasso in 1994. Armin was very active in his community as a member of the Wabasso American Legion Post # 263, Lions Club, Waterbury Township Board, various positions at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, and Redwood County ASCS. He also started the food program WAFER, was a two time WCCO good neighbor, Redwood County Senior Citizen, and most recently named the Golden Living Center’s resident of the month. Armin loved to farm both crops and livestock, and enjoyed helping his son-in-law Dave on the farm. He took great care of his lawn and enjoyed gardening in his later years. He also enjoyed playing cards everyday at the C-store with his friends, and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Armin loved children. On Tuesday, January 27, 2015 Armin passed away at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso surrounded by his loving family at the age of 87 years old. Armin is survived by his wife of 63 years Myra of Wabasso; daughters Faith (and Gary) Lucht of Inver Grove Heights, and Lori (and Dave) Eis of Wabasso; son-in-law Al Ahlbrecht of Lafayette; grandchildren, Tara (and Troy) Zincke and great grandchildren Tally and Trigg, Ben (and Theresa) Lucht and great grandchildren David and Sarah, Andy (and Sheena) Lucht and great grandchild Tenley, Zachery (and Tina) Eis and great grandchildren Avery and Delaina, Brittney (and Joshua) Goche and great grandchild Jackson, Jayden Eis, Elizabeth Ahlbrecht, Danielle Ahlbrecht and great grandchild Bevin; brothers Lester (and Doris) Dallmann and Fred (and Lorraine) Dallmann; sisters-in-law Ellen Gunderson, and Jan (and Dean) Lawrenz; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Beverly Ann Ahlbrecht in 1997, his parents, in-laws Floyd and Merryellen Schwahn, sister-in-law Mildred Dallmann, and brother-in-law Duane Gunderson.
