Keith “Hud” James Harris was born in Clarkfield, MN on August 17th, 1950 to Harold and Sylvia (Marriott) Harris. He was baptized and confirmed at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. He married Mary Jane at the church on April 16, 1982. Hud enjoyed hunting and fishing anytime he could. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, particularly on the porch at the lake.Hud was a jack-of-all-trades and held many jobs. He most notably worked at the Hanley Falls Elevator and owned and operated Hud’s Food and Rec. in Hanley Falls for 10 years. He served on the Hanley Falls Fire Department for over 28 years. Hud also drove trucks and school buses, sold fire trucks, and worked construction. Being a sociable guy, Hud was involved in many groups and organizations. He was a member of the Hanley Falls City Council, the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church Council, Pioneer Power, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Wealthwood Gun Club, and the NRA. He took tremendous pride in being a 30 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. On Saturday, February 7, 2015, Hud passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 64 years old. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Jane (Goossen) Harris; 5 step-children, Lori (Randy) Schuler, Linda (Jim) Grothen, Colleen (Mitch) Olson, Tim (Tammy) Isaackson, and Kenny (Sandy) Isaackson; grandchildren, Derek and Perry Grothen, Chase, Coltyn and Ty Schuler, Jared, Kayla and Nicole Anspach, and Logan and Taivan Isaackson; great-grandchildren, Carson Nelson, Hunter and Kendall Grothen, Alexus and Ava Jones, and Addison Anspach; sisters, Christine (David) Osier and Angela Harris; Uncle Maurice and Auntie Phyllis Marriott, 3 nieces, Jenny, Becky, and Beth; great nephews, Orlo, Owen, Doyle, and Duncan; and other numerous family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Sylvia Harris and parents-in-law, Wilfred “Fritz” and Eoldie “Ellen” Goossen. A specials thanks to the staff of Home Health in Granite Falls, especially Helen Gunderson, and the staff at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital for all the wonderful care they gave to Hud.
