Norbert Skoblik,86, of Seaforth, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Monday, August 31, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Cemetery in Lucan. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Norbert Skoblik was born on September 30, 1928 to Joseph and Hattie (Rohlik) Skoblik on the family farm near Lucan. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. He attended school in Wabasso and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1946. He made his home on a farm near Seaforth where Norb was a lifelong farmer and conservationist. Norb was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth, a member of the Catholic Foresters, and in 2001, he was honored as an Outstanding Conservationist. Norb also said the rosary on the radio in Marshall. Norb enjoyed pitching and playing softball, horseshoes, hunting, fishing, and raising poultry on the farm and also for the Redwood Falls Zoo. Norb loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews, loved to visit with people, and had a great sense of humor. Norb loved animals, the land, and his dogs and cats were very special to him. He will be greatly missed. On Wednesday, August 26, 2015, Norb passed away at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso at the age of 86. He is survived by his brother George Gales; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Hattie Skoblik, step-father George N. Gales, two brothers James and Joseph Skoblik, one sister Mary Ann Eichten, and one step-brother James Gales. Blessed be his memory.
