Myren K. Remmele, 86 formerly of Echo, passed away at his home in Marshall on Monday, November 16, 2015. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Echo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be in the Echo Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the Wood Lake Community Center. Online condolences may be placed at www.sunsetfuneralassociation.com. Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Myren K. Remmele was born November 14, 1929 to Baldwin and Clara (Preuss) Remmele on the family farm in Echo Township. He was baptized on December 1, 1929 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended Echo Public School and graduated from Echo High School in 1947. While in high school he was active in varsity baseball and basketball. He joined the National Guard and was called into active duty in January of 1951 during the Korean War with the 47th Tank Co., and was stationed in Ft. Rucker, AL with the 12th Engineer Construction BN. After his time of service he returned to the Echo area and continued farming with his family. On June 3, 1967 Myren married JoAnne Draper at the Christian Reform Church in Pipestone, MN and they made their home in and around Echo throughout their life together. He was active in the community serving on the Farmers Co-operative Elevator Board for over 18 years. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church and served on the church council for several years. He enjoyed taking care of livestock, hunting ducks and deer, ice fishing and playing cards. On Monday, November 16, 2015 Myren died at his home in Marshall, MN at the age of 86. Myren is survived by his son, Thomas (Amy Jo) Remmele of Echo, MN; daughter, Sara (Cory) Hubbard of Cottonwood, MN; five grandchildren, Clay and Calli Newton, and Jaci, Zane and Ava Hubbard; one sister, Janet (Walter) Werner of Echo, MN; nieces, nephews and many friends. His wife, JoAnne, and his parents, preceded him in death.
