Clarice Holt, 96, formerly of Belview, MN died on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Renvilla Health Center in Renville, MN. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Belview Cemetery. Clarice Elinor Anderson Holt was born in Sioux Agency Township on Friday, July 18, 1919 to Oscar and Ida (Sander) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Rock Valle Lutheran Church. Clarice grew up on a farm and attended country school District #10. She was valedictorian of her 1937 graduating class at Belview High School. She was a graduate of Omaha Correspondence School and Mankato Commercial College earning a business degree. She worked for the Federal Land Bank in Redwood Falls for many years. During World War II, she lived and worked in Washington D.C. as a secretary for the Department of the Navy. Following the war, she returned to Redwood Falls and continued her work at the Federal Land Bank. She was united in marriage to Henry Holt on March 18, 1945 at Evangelical Lutheran Church. Clarice and Hank operated the Holt Oil and Grocery Store in Belview for 25 years. They retired to Eagle Lake in Willmar and when Hank fell ill they moved to Redwood Falls in 1986, where Henry died in 1987. Clarice spent the last five years in the Renvilla Nursing Home in Renville, Minnesota where she received care with love and dignity. On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, Clarice died at the Renvilla Health Center in Renville, Minnesota at the age of 96 years, 6 months, and 8 days. Left to cherish and hold her memories close are her children, Craig Holt of Monticello, Debra (Curt) Enestvedt of Burnsville, and Darlene (Jeff) Kurtz of Echo; grandchildren, Eric (Lucy) Holt, Andrew Enestvedt, David (Laura) Enestvedt, Lindsey Kurtz, and Adam Kurtz; great grandchildren, Holly Holt, and Emma Enestvedt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her parents, and brother Stanford Anderson. Blessed be her memory.
