Gary Allen Penske

The funeral service for Gary Penske, 63, of Winsted, formerly of rural Vesta, will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date at the Vesta Cemetery. Gary died unexpectedly at his residence in Winsted on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Gary Allen Penske was born on August 13, 1952, in Springfield, to Allen and Doris (Henriksen) Penske. He grew up on the family farm near Vesta. Gary attended grade school in Vesta and graduated from the Echo High School in 1970. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta. Gary was united in marriage to Margaret Bursack. The couple moved to Winsted in 2013. Gary enjoyed fishing and was an animal lover. He especially enjoyed his pet dogs. Gary died unexpectedly at his residence in Winsted on Saturday, February 27, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of Winsted, sister Janice (and Glenn) Kuck of Winsted, sister-in-law Patrice Penske of St. Cloud, brother-in-law Jim (and Tammy) Bursack of Marshall, nieces and nephews Miranda (and Adam) Phillip, Collin (and Amber) Dahl, Jordan (and Alyssa) Kuck, Brittany Kuck (and fiancé Shawn Thiemann), Brandon Bursack, Ryn Bursack, Mackenzie Bursack and Christine Bursack. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arlen and Duane.
