Ruth Mae Post, 90, of Cottonwood, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Parkview Home in Belview. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Ruth Mae (Buysse) Post was born on Wednesday, March 31, 1926 to Henry and Jesse (Harbo) Buysse in Lucan, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. She lived in Green Valley for a short time before moving to Cottonwood in 1936 where she attended and graduated from Cottonwood High School. On June 30, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to Earl Post in Cottonwood, Minnesota where they made their home and were lifelong residents. Ruth worked for 25 years at the Empire State Bank of Cottonwood. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood and was involved with the Ladies Auxillary. Ruth’s life revolved around family, she loved spending time with them. In her younger years, Ruth enjoyed baking and cooking. She also liked to watch Minnesota Sports, and loved college basketball, especially Duke and the Big 10 Conference. On Friday, May 20, 2016, Ruth passed away at the Parkview Home in Belview, Minnesota at the age of 90 years, 1 month, 2 weeks, and 5 days. She is survived by her two children, David (Mavis) Post of Eagan, and Craig Post of Cottonwood; five grandchildren, Wiley (Crista) Post, Chastity (Aaron) Kuehn, Jennifer (Steve) Weestrand, Ryan Post, and Colby (Danielle) Post; twelve great grandchildren, Tanisha, Taneka, Cameron, Dominic, Brady, Emma, Kyler, Jayla, Ava, Colton, Tucker, and Paige; one sister, Janet Lindsay; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Post, her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Bruce Buysse, and one sister, Jean Chandler. Blessed be her memory.
