Rosanne Lynn Olson

The funeral service for Rosanne Olson, 65, of Wabasso, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Rosanne Lynn (Mohning) Olson was born on November 1, 1950, in Le Mars, IA, to Arnold and Hilda (Kuttler) Mohning. She grew up on the family farm near Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars High School. Rosanne was united in marriage to David Rollinger and to this union were born daughter Jenny and son Jeff. The family lived in Le Mars, Waverly and Storm Lake, Iowa, before settling in Luverne, MN. Rosanne worked at several jobs including Hotopps Jewelry, K-Products, the Luverne REM House, Rock County Opportunity, the Corner Gas Stop, Glenn’s Bakery and Hy-Vee. After her marriage to David Rollinger ended, she was later united in marriage to David Olson, who brought sons Greg and Benjamin to the marriage. Rosanne enjoyed reading, camping, sewing, gardening, and quilting. She was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings, and a huge Nascar fan, with her favorite driver being Kevin Harvick. She was most passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. She had been living in Wabasso for the last few years to be closer to them. She was quite fond of Christmas time, especially the decorating. Rosanne died on Friday, May 27, 2016, at Season’s Hospice in Redwood Falls, MN, after a three year illness with multiple myeloma. She is survived by her daughter Jenny (Travis) Welch, of Vesta, grandchildren Allison, Gabrielle and Samuel, son Jeff of Le Mars, IA; stepchildren Greg Olson of Sioux Falls, SD, Ben Olson of Elkton, SD, and grandson Ethan; her siblings Linda (Russ) Mayrose of Le Mars, IA, Steve (Kris) Mohning of Adel, IA, John (Bonnie) Mohning of York, NE, Karen Bugge of Le Mars, IA, Tom (Deb) Mohning of Columbus, NE, Al (Kathy) Mohning of Westminster, MD, Laurie Mohning of Livermore, CA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and her special companion, her dog Charlie.
