Lois May Bahn, 89 of Buffalo, formerly of Wood Lake passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Knute Nelson Hospice Home in Alexandria. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Posen Township, rural Wood Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Lois May (Timm) Bahn was born on August 5, 1927 to Arthur and Laura (Schlemmer) Timm in Wood Lake, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, attended St. Luke’s Parochial School and Wood Lake High School. On April 15, 1945, Lois was united in marriage to Louis “Sonny” Bahn at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. They made their home on a farm near Wood Lake. Lois was a homemaker but also worked as a cook for St. Luke’s Parochial School and decorated cakes for all occasions. She was active with the Ladies Aid, Birthday Club, and Card Club. She enjoyed spending winters in Texas with Sonny for over 25 years and many summers at Lake Mary in Alexandria. She also enjoyed painting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. On Wednesday, August 31, 2016, Lois passed away at the Knute Nelson Hospice home in Alexandria, Minnesota at the age of 89. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Ray) Huston of Buffalo, Gary (Kathy) Bahn of Alexandria, and Jodell (Steve) Steffen of Starbuck; grandchildren, Jim (Dodi) Huston, Jason Huston, Joel Huston, Amy (special friend Bart) Huston, and Kurby Steffen; great grandchildren, Jamee (John) Hopkins, Jess Huston, Chloe Huston, Jonny Huston, Tanner Steffen, and Berkley Steffen; great-great grandchildren, Colton Hopkins, and Tommy Hopkins; and many additional extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Bahn, her parents, grandson Johnny Ray Huston, brothers Harvey, Howard, and Melvin, and infant sister Mildred Timm. Blessed be her memory.
