Mildred Mae Trost, 74, of Wabasso, MN passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Monday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 PM followed by a rosary service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Mildred Mae (Scott) Trost was born on Sunday, August 23, 1942 to Clifford and Neva (Jensen) Scott in Milroy, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and graduated from Milroy High School. On June 2, 1962, Mildred was united in marriage to Ralph Trost at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy. She was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith at this time. They made their home in Wabasso where Mildred was a homemaker, wife and mother. After raising her children, Mildred attended SDSU in Brookings and received her certificate as a Dietician. Mildred was head cook at the Wabasso School, Dietician at the nursing homes in Lamberton and Wabasso, and ran her own catering business called Millie’s Catering. She was named Dietician of the Year and was a member of the Wabasso Progress Club and St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Mildred enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking bread and entertaining her family and friends hosting numerous parties and loved spending time with her grandchildren. On Thursday, September 22, 2016, Mildred passed away at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 74 years, 3 weeks and 6 days. She is survived by her husband Ralph Trost of Wabasso; four children Scott (Laurie) Trost of LaGrange, IN, Eric Trost of Marshall, John (Janet) Trost of Marshall and Brad (Jodi) Trost of Maple Grove; thirteen grandchildren DeAnn, Joseph, Alaina, Lydia, Todd, Trevor, Tad, Adam, Rachel, Troy, Norah, Brady and Annie; two sisters Carol Prokasky and Mavis Jerzak; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Neva Scott, and brothers, Gordon, Gilbert and Kenneth. Blessed be her memory.
