Michael Lubeck, 71, of Belview, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Belview on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the Echo Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Michael Henry Lubeck was born on September 24, 1945 in Kenosha, WI to Henry and Mavis (Coling) Lubeck. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Kenosha Public High School. In 1964, Michael enlisted into the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970. After his discharge from service, Michael moved to Minneapolis for a few years before moving to California. On October 16, 1983, Michael was united in marriage to Patricia Larsen in Ventura, California. They made their home in California where Michael worked several different maintenance positions over the years. In December of 2005, Michael and Patricia moved to Belview. While living in California, Michael enjoyed visiting museums, site seeing, hiking, biking and going on long walks and fast cars. In his later years, he enjoyed reading, writing, working puzzles and fast cars. On Thursday, December 29, 2016, Michael passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Belview at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife Patricia Lubeck of Belview; one brother Ronald Lubeck; and two half brothers Todd and Gary Huth. He was preceded in death by his parents. Blessed be his memory.
