John Hubert Pohlen

John Pohlen, 85, of Wabasso, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Friday at the church with a parish prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.   John Hubert Pohlen was born on April 1, 1931 in New Avon Township to John and Helen (Turbes) Pohlen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and attended St. Anne’s Catholic School. He farmed in Vail Township until retiring and then moved into Wabasso. He enjoyed old tractors, farming, old time music and loved to drive around the country. On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, John passed away at the Golden Living Center in Wabasso at the age of 85. He is survived by his brothers Alois (Doris) Pohlen of Madison, Dennis Pohlen of Wabasso, Francis (Mary Jo) Pohlen of Janesville; sisters Virginia Seaman of Redwood Falls and Janet (Jerry) Glaser of New Ulm; two nephews Rick Seaman and Mike Pohlen; one niece Kathy Pohlen; and one great nephew Mathew Pohlen. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rosella and brother-in-law Bill Seaman. Blessed be his Memory.
