Morris Jerome Pendleton Sr. was born on May 26, 1935 to Earl and Elizabeth (Leith) Pendleton in Morton, MN. On February 10, 1973, Morris was united in marriage to Connie (Wheeler) in Codington County, SD. They made their home in Minneapolis, MN where Morris worked for many years as a high school counselor to Native American youth. He was also one of the first to be on the Board of Indian Health in Minneapolis. Morris loved to tell stories of his childhood, his time in the U.S. Air Force, and as a long shoreman in Long Beach, CA. He loved to tell jokes and was not at a loss for words. He taught Ballroom dance at Arthur Murray Studio in Minneapolis for a few years and taught us kids a few moves. In 1981, Morris moved his family to the Lower Sioux Indian Community in Morton, MN. He held many jobs at Jackpot Junction Casino; entertainment was at the top of the list. For many years, he booked bands in the nightclub and that was his favorite. He never missed a basketball game of his grandsons; he was so very proud of them. Morris went above and beyond for his family and friends; which kept him busy in his retirement years. Spending time at Jackpot gambling, listening to music and hanging out with his friends and family was special to him. He loved getting together with family for dinners and holidays. He will be forever in our minds and certainly not forgotten. Morris is survived by his children; Kimberly (Michael) Hewitt, Earl (Dawn) Pendleton, Morris Pendleton Jr., and all of the Lower Sioux Community; grandchildren; Richard, Michael, Ryan, Sam, Alexus, Derek, Lewis, Christian, Mykaylee and Max; great grandchildren Avery and Bentlee; sister Loretta (Howard), brother Robert; nieces Constance Pendleton and Sherril (Charlie) Brown; Lisa Larson (adopted daughter), and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. His parents, wife Constance and siblings, Fred, Marion, Wally, Doug, Lois, Marvin, Vivian and Russell preceded him in death. Blessed be the memory of Morris Jerome Pendleton Sr.
