Mass of Christian Burial for David Honetschlager, 68, formerly of Wabasso, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery in Lucan. A livestream of the service will be available at www.lowafc.org. David George Honetschlager was born on July 25, 1955, in Redwood Falls, MN, to Edmund and Irene (Salfer) Honetschlager. He grew up with his family in Lucan. David attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in Lucan and graduated from Wabasso High School. He attended one year of Vocational Technical School in Willmar. David worked for many years for the Zieske Lumber Yard which later became the Wabasso Building Center. He worked in many capacities including as an estimator. David was passionate about his family. He was a wonderful uncle and especially enjoyed spending time with his parents and twin brother Dennis. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, walking and traveling, especially trips to the North Shore or the Lakes in the Willmar area. His Catholic faith was very important to him. For the last several years, David was dealing with a neurological disorder. After he left his home in Wabasso, he lived in Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls and the Franklin Restorative Care Center in Franklin. David died on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Franklin Restorative Care Center in Franklin, Minnesota. He is survived by his sister Ann (Emmett) Thomsen of Hendricks, twin brother Dennis Honetschlager of Redwood Falls, brother Kevin (Linda) Honetschlager of Marshall, sister Geralyn (Lee) Broderius of Glencoe and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephews Michael and Mark Thomsen, cousin Stephen Honetschlager and aunts and uncles.
