Dwayne Thomas Ousky

Funeral services for Dwayne Ousky are Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Belview, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at the church. Dwayne Thomas Ousky was born on June 15th, 1934, in Granite Rock Township, Redwood County, Lucan, MN, to Thomas and Mattie (Meyer) Ousky. Dwayne was baptized on the 18th of November 1934 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Wanda, MN. He attended Country School and once completing 8th grade, was asked to help his father farm and this started his career of farming for the rest of his life. On November 15, 1953, Dwayne was married to Janet (Marquardt) at St Johns Lutheran Church of Wood Lake, MN. Dwayne was drafted to the Army AUS Field Artillery Division in 1959. He spent most of his service time in Germany. He was an Expert (Carbine), Sharpshooter (Rifle) (Tank) and received the Good Conduct Medal of Honor! Dwayne was drafted again in 1962 and he worked as a Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and Auto Mechanic. He received an Honorable discharge in 1964. Together Dwayne and Janet made their home on a farm, in Redwood County, South of Belview, where they raised their three children. Janet, by his side, helped out in the fields and became his lifelong farming partner. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren with him and taught them so many things about the farm life he so loved! Dwayne was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Belview, MN. He was a member of the Belview Legion. Was a member of the Classic Car Club and he enjoyed collecting and tinkering on his classic cars. He enjoyed his trips to Sturgis, SD for the Bike Rally. Janet always by his side or right behind him! He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dwayne and Janet traveled to Arizona and stayed during the winter months. He loved attending Car Swap meets with his family and friends. He had a most favorable talent of racing stock cars and fixing them which he passed down from generation to generation which made him a legacy to his family and many other racing followers! Dwayne and Janet also loved their Sunday drives to the river bottom to check out the wildlife! Dwayne and Janet celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary on November 15th, 2021. Dwayne passed away November 24th, after a five-year battle with cancer, at Serenity Suites in Wabasso, MN surrounded by his loving wife and family! Dwayne is survived by his wife, Janet; children: Cathy Ousky of Belview, MN, Bill Ousky of Echo, MN and Laurie (Rob) Fish of Shakopee, MN; grandchildren: Katie (Brent) Frikken, Sartell, MN, Joni Milbradt, Marshall, MN, Dan Milbradt and special friend (Abby), Belview, MN, Dylan (Amanda) Ousky, Charlotte, NC, Nick (Lexi) Ousky, Stillwater, MN, MaKenzie Fish, Shakopee, MN, Brady Fish and special friend (Shelby) of Sartell, MN; special grand friend Bella of Granite Falls, MN; great-grandchildren: Kylah, Bryce, Peter, James and Ambrose. Also survived by his sister Marilyn Schwan, Redwood Falls, MN and brother Norman Ousky (Brenda), Belview, MN. Several nieces and nephews as well! Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mattie Ousky of Echo, MN and son-in-law, Dan Milbradt of Belview, MN. Blessed be his beloved memory!
