Emmajean Iverson, 81, of Granite Falls, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Granite Hospital in Granite Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 9, 2018 at Rock Valle Lutheran Church, rural Echo. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Thursday at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Emmajean Iverson was born on July 25, 1937 in Brainerd, MN to John and Agnes (Roff) Husman. She was baptized in the Christian faith, attended Rail Prairie School and graduated from Pillager High School in Pillager, MN. After graduation, Emmajean attended teachers training and taught at a country school. She then moved to Minneapolis and worked as a buyer’s assistant at Donaldson’s Department Store. On June 24, 1961, Emmajean was united in marriage to James Iverson at First Baptist Church in Pillager, MN. After marriage, they made their home in Palmdale, CA for a short time before moving back to Minnesota and purchasing the Rock Valley Store. In 1987, they moved to the Iverson family farm where she remained until moving into the Riverside Apartments in Granite Falls in 2010. Over the years, Emmajean was a member of Rock Valle W.E.L.C.A and the 6AM Swimmers at the Kilowatt Community Center. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, participating in the Belview Country Show and was always interested in the activities of her grandchildren. She loved to stay in touch with her high school classmates and spend time with her family and friends. On Monday, November 5, 2018, Emmajean passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital in Granite Falls, MN at the age of 81. She is survived by her children Judi Iverson of Eagan, Angela (Ray) Hawes of Cleveland, TN and Randy (Nancy) Iverson of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Peter and Thomas Micholic, Josh and Joe Hawes and Katrina and Maggie Iverson; siblings Marvin “Bud” Husman and Shirley Maurer; sisters-in-law Sharon McAndrew and Susan Husman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents and siblings Harold, Margaret, Carolyn, John and Tom. Blessed be her memory.
