Florence Ann Kohls, 99, of Belview, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Parkview Home in Belview. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Echo with a prayer service at 7:30 PM followed by a rosary service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Florence Ann Kohls was born in Delhi Township, Redwood County to Thomas and Bridget (Kennedy) Donohue on August 13, 1918. She attended school in Delhi until her family moved to Belview and she attended and graduated from Belview High School in 1936. In August of 1938, she was united in marriage to Roland Kohls at St. Mary’s Catholic Parsonage in Seaforth. They lived in Belview for 2 years and then moved to a farm northeast of Belview where they farmed for 19 years. They then moved back to Belview and Florence started working at the Redwood County Nursing Home. She worked there for 17 years and then it closed so she started working at the Wood Dale Nursing Home where she retired in 1980. Her husband Roland passed away on April 21, 1982. She was a member of the Belview Civic Club, Birthday Club, Senior Citizens and has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 60 plus years. She liked to tie quilts and lap robes for the Auxiliary to be taken to the Veterans Home. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and friends and she especially liked to play cards. On Monday, July 2, 2018, Florence passed away at the Parkview Home in Belview at the age of 99. She is survived by her son Tom (Sharon) Kohls of North Mankato; son-in-law Ed Brick of Georgetown, TX; grandchildren John (Maria) Brick of Houston, TX, Kelly (Mitch) Cononie of Houston, TX, Tom (Kristen) Brick of Austin, TX, Lisa Sellers of Yerington, NV, Laurie Engelby of North Mankato and Kristi Kohls of Houston, TX; great grandchildren Ashlyn Cononie, Dylan Cononie, Travis Brick, Taylor Brick, Karissa Brick, Savanna Brick, Colton Brick, Logan Engelby, Karli Engelby and Edward Sellers Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland, daughter Phyllis Brick, parents, two sisters Frances Rohlik and Eva Nelson, two brothers Charles and Elmer Donohue, one sister-in-law Lucretia Donohue and three brothers-in-law Tony Rohlik, Vern Nelson and Keith Kohls.
