She grew up in Sacred Heart until the summer after 8th grade when her family moved to Wood Lake, MN. She graduated high school in the spring of 1949 and then moved to St. Cloud, MN to continue her education. It was at this time she met and fell in love with Harold Braun. The couple was united in marriage on March 4, 1950, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, MN. The couple began their life together on a farm near Wood Lake. The pair had a passion for traveling. Together their travels have taken them to 48 states, Canada and Mexico. They also wintered together in Alamo, TX for over 25 years. Gloria had many hobbies throughout her lifetime. She loved to go camping and watch baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins! Gloria was always up for an adventure and never turned down an opportunity to travel, see friends, or try something new. She was creative and later in life took up an interest in painting. Gloria was a member of the Wood Lake Merry Mothers Club for over three decades. She had a sweet tooth and could often be found snacking on chocolate.
