Gordon Lommen, 76, of Westminster, CO, formerly of Wabasso, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Denver, CO. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home in Wabasso and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at 3PM on Saturday at the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Wabasso. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.   Gordon Lommen was born January 23, 1941 in Wimbledon, ND to Conrad and Ruby (Rust) Lommen. Gordon was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He worked as a canoe and fishing guide in the Boundary Waters of MN and in the Quetico Provincial Park in Canada. After serving in the United States Army in Nancy, France, as a payroll clerk, Gordon graduated with a business degree from Globe College of Business. Gordon married Ardell Arends, daughter of Marvin and Mildred (Maas) Arends, on March 29, 1969. After several office jobs in the Twin Cities, Gordon chose to work outside. He farmed near Wabasso, MN, until his health failed in 1991. Gordon especially loved Jesus his Savior, God’s beautiful creation, canoeing, and his two granddaughters. In 2014 he moved to Westminster, CO. Gordon made his final portage on September 18, 2018 from the Denver Hospice Center to meet his Savior in heaven. Gordon is survived by his wife Ardell Lommen of Westminster, CO, his son Steven Lommen of St. Paul, MN, his daughter Siri Lichte of Westminster, CO, and two granddaughters Ruby and Adelaide Lichte of Westminster, CO. Also surviving are Gordon’s siblings: Casey (Carol) Lommen of Lake Park, MN, Paul (Sue) Lommen of North Branch, MN, Betty (Kotohito) Furutani of Santa Clarita, CA, John Lommen of Hercules, CA, Mark (Becky) Lommen of Fargo, ND, and Joan Burggraf of Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Rick Burggraf.
