Gregory Dean Van Lerberghe, 63, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Wood Lake, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, July 3, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Granite Falls with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Gregory Dean Van Lerberghe was born on November 30, 1953 to Raymond and Joan (DeRider) Van Lerberghe at Weiner Memorial Hospital in Marshall, Minnesota. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood and confirmed at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Granite Falls. He attended and graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1972. After graduation, he attended and graduated from Granite Falls Vocational College with a degree in Fluid Power. He then moved to Omaha Nebraska where he worked as a hydraulic specialist for Baum Iron and Hydraulics. Greg was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Omaha. He also was an election judge and often a donor to the Bloodmobile. He enjoyed plants, gardening, pets, playing keyboard and piano, fireworks, kites, board games and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Greg never missed a family get together and often would play his music at special events. He is survived by his parents Raymond and Joan Van Lerberghe of Wood Lake; siblings Allen Van Lerberghe of Wood Lake, Linda (Jack) Loch of Sauk Centre, Brad (Marlys) Van Lerberghe of Wood Lake, Sandra (Steven) Naab of Marshall, Diane (Craig) Milbradt of Marshall, Pam (John) Keltgen of Carver and Trudy (John) Cariveau of Cambridge; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and niece Angela Pederson. Blessed be his memory.
