A private family funeral service for Harold Braun, 93, of Blaine, formerly of Wood Lake, will be held on Wednesday, May 27, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Posen Township. Interment will follow the service at St. Luke’s Lutheran Cemetery. A drive by visitation will be available to friends at 12:30 p.m. on the church lot. Harold Henry Braun was born on July 12, 1926, to Henry and Lily Braun in Courtland, MN. He was baptized in Immanuel Lutheran Church. The family moved to Wood Lake when he was twelve, and Harold was confirmed at St. Luke’s in Posen Township. On March 4, 1950, he married the girl next door, Gloria Myra. The couple farmed near Wood Lake; they had a dairy farm and later raised hogs. The couple retired from farming and moved to Elkhart, IN. They delivered RV Motor Homes for five years and traveled to 47 states and Canada. Harold and Gloria retired and spent 25 winters in Alamo, TX. They camped and traveled in the summer, including trips to Alaska, Prince Edward Island, and Canada several times. In 2016, they moved to Willmar and the Westrich RV Park in Spicer. Most recently, they lived at Edgewood Assisted Living in Blaine. Harold died on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Blaine. He is survived by his wife Gloria of Blaine; children Debra (Larry) Nelson of Spicer, Greg (Becky) of Austin, TX, Dawn (Tom) Rustad of Blaine; son-in-law Steve Alexander of Edina; grandchildren Amy, Amanda, Bryan, Eric, Trentyn, Ashley, Mara, Zach, and Tori; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Elthea Schultz and Jerome (Liane) Braun; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Caralee Alexander, and six siblings.
