The funeral service for Leland Larson, 80, of Belview, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church in Belveiw. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Belview. Leland Arthur Larson was born on February 27, 1941, in Redwood Falls, MN, to Arthur and Aleda (Roxberg) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belview. He grew up on the family farm in Belview and graduated from Belview High School in 1959. Leland attended vocational technical school for auto mechanics in Fargo for a couple of years. He also served in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he returned to the family farm in Belview. He enjoyed farming and raising animals including his polled Hereford cattle, sheep and feeder pigs. He enjoyed working with numbers, creating spreadsheets and applying that skill to his farm operation. Leland was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed, fishing, visiting with people and taking short trips to interesting places. He also enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Leland died unexpectedly at his residence in rural Belview on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. He is survived by his brother Paul Larson (and Janet Ruppert) of Vergas, MN, sister Carolyn (and Dean) Huhnerkoch of Redwood Falls, nieces Kathy (and Chris) Arens of Osakis, Nancy (and Joel) Matson of Plymouth; nephews Kevin (and Jessica), Chad (and Christine) and Randy (and Julie) Huhnerkoch of the Redwood Falls area. Also survived by great-nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Arlene “Jean” Larson.
