On October 9, 1938, Leona was united in marriage to Walter Schrupp at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. This union was blessed with three children, Inez, Darlene and Wesley. She worked several years as head cook at the Granite Falls Hospital and Parkview Nursing Home. In 2002, she sold her home in Wood Lake and moved to Granite Ridge Place in Granite Falls where she resided until October of 2013, becoming a resident of Parkview Home in Belview.
