Linda M Turbes

Linda Turbes, 71, of Wabasso, passed away at the Avera - McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD on Monday, August 20, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM on Friday at the church with a prayer service at 8:00 PM followed by a rosary service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.   Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family. Linda Turbes was born on February 25, 1947 to Lyle and Lillian (Forsman) Welu in Marshall, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy and graduated from Milroy High School. In 1966, Linda was united in marriage to Lloyd Turbes at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy and they made their home together on a farm near Lucan. Linda was a lifelong member of CCW, holding various offices over the years as she did with Catholic United Financial. She was also a huge supporter of Our Lady of Victory School and active with Our Lady of Victory Centennial Committee. She was a member of the Birthday Club and Extension. She cherished time spent with family and friends and always looked forward to attending her 3 grandson’s activities. On Monday, August 20, 2018, Linda passed away at the Avera-McKennan Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 71. She is survived by her husband Lloyd Turbes of Wabasso; son Jeff (Audrey) Turbes of Wabasso; three grandchildren Andrew, Michael and Zachary Turbes; siblings Diane (Ron) Sticha, Karen (Tom) Tamble, Joe (Jean) Welu, Mark (Sue) Welu, Mary Welu Dugan, Matt (Angie) Welu, Kathryn (Tom) Sikes and Janet Welu; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son David, and sister Julie Welu. Blessed be her memory.
