Marilyn Geihl, 87, of Cottonwood, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Granite Falls Health Care Center in Granite Falls. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Sunset Funeral & Cremation Association is caring for the family.   Marilyn Ruth Geihl was born on June 5, 1931 to Edward and Kathryn (Hubert) Brennan in Granite Falls, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church and graduated from Granite Falls High School. On June 5, 1949, Marilyn was united in marriage to Norman Geihl in Granite Falls, Minnesota. They made their home in Cottonwood until 1951 when they moved to Colton, South Dakota. In 1956, they returned to Cottonwood where they have lived since. Marilyn was active in her community and volunteered for many years at the Cottonwood Country Club and the English Lutheran Ladies Aide. She enjoyed card playing, especially Bridge and Whist, embroidering, going to the casino, listening and dancing to Elvis Presley music, cleaning and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. On Thursday, July 12, 2018, Marilyn passed away at the Granite Falls Care Center in Granite Falls, Minnesota at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband Norman; children Mark (Susan) Geihl, Pam (Vern) Buysse, Paul (Karen) Geihl, Dave (Shannon) Geihl and John Geihl; grandchildren Jennifer (Rick) Kortekaas, Brian (Annie) Geihl, Curt (Theresa) Buysse, Nicholas Buysse, Melissa (Chad) Friedrichs, Timothy Buysse, Aaric (Cheryl) Geihl, Courtney (Lucas) Voorhees, Zachary (Laura) Fischer, Thomas Geihl, Jarrett Geihl, Brandi Geihl, Wade Geihl and Lee Gilb; great grandchildren Grace Geihl, Finnley Kortekaas, Charlie and Jackie Geihl, Jade (Mike) Maxwell, Jordan and Jasmine Buysse, Taylor, Jacob and Hailey Buysse, Carolyn Fredricks, Dominick Paradis, Ben, Sam and Stella Geihl, Mally Fischer, Liam, Jayce and Nova Geihl; great-great grandchildren Aydin, Paislee and Ella Maxwell; sister Georgia (David) Anderson; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mavis Renillard. Blessed be her memory.
