She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo, MN. She graduated from Echo High School in 1962 and attended St. Cloud State for one year. She then transferred to Granite Falls Vocational School. On December 26, 1965 she was united in marriage to Elwood Gummert at Peace Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they lived briefly in Wilmar before they began farming outside of Echo. They had three children, David, Christine and Paul. The couple later divorced. On March 8, 1996 Marge and Dale Luepke married at Hawk Creek Lutheran Church. They spent many happy years living outside of Granite Falls. She enjoyed bird watching, playing dominoes and other board games. She was great at embroidering. Marjorie could often be found watching the Hallmark channel. Marge had many jobs throughout her life. She was an office employee at Rehkamp Funeral Home in Marshall, she owned a craft shop in Echo, Victor’s Fluid Power in Granite Falls and Prairies Edge Casino. Marjorie died on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Avera Granite Falls Care Center. She is survived by her son David Gummert; grandchildren Jacob Ohland and Madyson (Michael Cortes) Ohland; two great-grandchildren Macson and Millie Cortes; sister Betty (Gale) Running; brother Jim (Carey) Hoepner; nieces Sarah Sand, Liz Montreuil; nephews Justin Hoepner, Greg Running and AC Magnuson; step-children Kathy, Michael, Lee, Kim, Kari, Otto, and Chad Luepke; special friends Kathy and Charlie Moon, Ashley Luepke. Marge is preceded in death by her husband Dale Luepke; parents Harold and Mabel Hoepner; son Paul Gummert; daughter Christine Ohland; niece Anna Malmquist; nephew Patrick Rossell; step-son Dale Luepke Jr.; step-grandson Trevor Luepke. Blessed be her memory.
